ADOPT A TIGER!
 |
Siren - Born on July 5, 2004, Siren came to
Zooville June 9, 2005. Siren was one of 2 cubs in a litter
born to 2 tigers in a travelling roadside attraction. One
of our past board members took the cubs to bottle raise them as
the attraction owner did not have the knowledge or experience to
do so, and unfortunately the non-stop travelling and exhibit in
a travel trailer did not make the mother feel safe enough to do
so. The 2 cubs were intended to be photo cats, but Siren
had other plans. She earned her name because of the
non-stop screaming she did if you attempted to hold or touch
her. That screaming eventually got her turned over to us. I am happy to say, not long after that, we were able
to get her brother permanently placed in an awesome facility in
Alabama, and a few years later, they were able to get their
parents and retire them in a beautiful forever home.
Today, SiSi LOVES attention and rarely makes a sound, other than
a friendly chuff to Ananda and her caregivers.

Ananda
- Born June 1, 2004, Ananda came to Zooville on November 14, 2005. Ananda had been used as an education and photo cat and was very
socialized and well cared for. But, like all photo cats,
they can only be used for so long before they become too large
to use. Many big cats were safely used for many years for
photo cats, but the laws changed and now only allow cubs for a
very short window. Ananda has grown into a very large cat and
has a great attitude, but has really grown to dislike groups!
He prefers peace and quiet, except for the occasional romp with
his companion Siren! While we believe in Species Survival
Programs and the propogation of species, we do not feel the need
to breed tigers ourselves. Ananda has been neutered to
prevent the birth of any cubs here.

Kai Li, aka Kaia
- Kaia was born in 2005 and came to Zooville on August4, 2011. Kaia, and her companion Mufasa (lion) belong to a friend of the
zoo who, due to family obligations, had to move out of the
state. Having to live in multiple states that don't
readily allow the ownership of exotic cats, had caused her to
rely heavily on friends to look out for these 2 magnificent
animals. While she travelled back and forth regularly from
whatever state she was living in, she decided to place these
cats with us until such time as she can get
settled somewhere permanently that will allow her to have her
kids with her. Until then, they are welcome to stay here
as long as it is necessary, and permanently if need be.

TIGER ENRICHMENT
Tigers love toys, and here in Zooville we try and give them a
wide variety. They can be very destructive and need toys
that are made to last! There are only a handful of
companies that make these specialized toys for tigers and they
can be very costly. In some cases, because they are so
"heavy" duty, the cost of the shipping can be more than the cost
of the toy! With your support, we can continue to give our
tigers a wide variety of these bright and fun toys to keep them
active and young!
Keeping our animals mentally fit is very
important to us. Your support helps us keep these guys not
just physically fit, but mentally fit as well! Whether we
are using different substrates to give different tactile
experiences, or scents for stimulating the olfactory senses, or
things they can tear into like bones, boxes and various toys, we
love to watch the animals respond, react, and rejoice! Your
contributions help us keep their lives enriched!
