ADOPT A BOBCAT!

Bobbi - Bobbi was born in 2000 and came to Zooville on June 27, 2005.  She was one of 4 animals we set off to get and give a home to, but ended up coming home with 15!  She came with her mate Rufus, and was surrendered because her owner was just overwhelmed.  She was in beautiful shape, as were all of the animals we took in that day.  She was a wild cat and reminded us of that every time we got near her - as she still does to this day!  Rufus and Bobbi were supposed to be a breeding pair, but had never reproduced where they came from.  They produced 2 litters since we took them in.  The first was a complete surprise and unfortunately, they were found too late and we could not save them.  Mom and dad were petrified of them and had abandoned them.  The second was a single kitten and she is still here with us.

Lucy-fer - Lucy was born here on March 14, 2009 to Bobbi and Rufus.  She has her late father's looks and her mother's attitude!  She is a bit more well adjusted than Bobbi, but make no mistakes, she does not like humans!  Lucy has some health issues which we can not determine the origin of, so your contributions to Lucy go towards veterinary care and testing to help us determine what is causing her to be "off."  The person who helped raise her believes it is the result of a reaction to her baby vaccines.  It began with the first shot and got worse with each additional shot.  She has good days where she appears perfect, and days where she is wobbly.  We are determined to get to the bottom of her issues and with your support, we will succeed.

Chosie - Chosie is a non-releasable bobcat who came here from another wildlife rehabilitator for permanent refuge on November 14, 2009.  He was younger than Lucy, but we thought he would be a good companion for her.  He had gotten an abscess in one of his baby back teeth which caused his face to swell like a balloon, and despite antibiotics to help with the infection, permanent damage was done.  His face was paralyzed on one side and his vision impaired, and his balance greatly affected.  He is starting to regain the use of his facial muscles, and we are hoping all of his nerves will come back, and ultimately his balance.  He can get around just fine, and has a very healthy appetite!

Tehya was born in 2010 and arrived in Zooville on May 18, 2011.  She was born here in Florida, raised by women and used as an education animal briefly and then gone to Texas as a pet.  She had the most incredible enclosure and house to call home - larger than any traditional zoo!  She was in absolutely perfect shape and had been given every luxury - she was spoiled rotten.  Unfortunately, Tehya HATES men. She loves women and children, but turns into a wild child when a man is around.  As you have probably guessed, her owner who adored her was a man.  He sought professional guidance with behavior specialists and tried every last thing suggested to him, regardless of cost.  Tehya was not impressed and made it clear, she would never accept him.  He sought out a home, and paid all of the expenses to get her here. He still checks in on her regularly, and misses her terribly.

BOBCAT ENRICHMENT

Bobcats love toys, and all things are capable of being a toy to a bobcat!  From kong toys to stuffed animals to boxes and rolls of paper and stinky shoes, the world is a bobcat's oyster and everything in it is its pearl!

Keeping our animals mentally fit is very important to us.  Your support helps us keep these guys not just physically fit, but mentally fit as well!  Whether we are using different substrates to give different tactile experiences, or scents for stimulating the olfactory senses, or things they can tear into like bones, boxes and various toys, we love to watch the animals respond, react, and rejoice! Your contributions help us keep their lives enriched!
