ADOPT A CLOUDED LEOPARD!

Count - Count was born on in 2008 in the mid-western United States and was part of the AZA's Species Survival Plan.  He arrived in Zooville on June 24, 2010, and was given June 24 as the day we celebrate his birthday.  Unfortunately, a fight with his mate left him needing his tail amputated, which required him being separated from her to heal.  Clouded leopards are one of the most endangered cats on the planet and the hardest to reproduce.  Once a pair has bonded, they can NEVER be separated or the male will kill the female.  The reason why this happens has never been discovered.  Count, at the ripe old age of 2, went into retirement.  Shy by nature, we are thrilled to have this elusive beauty living here.
Jay - Jay was born in 2006 and arrived with Count.  He is absolute perfection!  We do not really know how he came to end up as a surplus male, but chances are there were no females available in the small window of opportunity to introduce them.  It may seem like there are a lot of surplus clouded leopards, but that would be inaccurate, since there are so few in the first place. Regardless of how he ended up needing to come here, we are just overjoyed to have him.  Not quite as shy as his brother, he is still quite the elusive cat.
Sukothai - "Suki" was born in April 2010 and came to Zooville on October 5, 2011.  We are still getting to know her, but she is as cute as she can be.  Unfortunately, Suki can not be introduced to any of our males, as they would most likely kill her, and that is just not a risk we are willing to take.  We look forward to getting to know little Suki and updating you about her.

CLOUDED LEOPARD ENRICHMENT

Clouded Leopards are very picky about what they play with.  So far, our greatest success has been with food based enrichment and scent.  Did you know, Clouded leopards eat hard boiled eggs?  While finding things to keep them enriched is more of a challenge than any other animals here, we are certainly up to the challenge.  Keeping our animals mentally fit is very important to us.  Your support helps us keep these guys not just physically fit, but mentally fit as well!  Whether we are using different substrates to give different tactile experiences, or scents for stimulating the olfactory senses, or things they can tear into like bones, boxes and various toys, we love to watch the animals respond, react, and rejoice! Your contributions help us keep their lives enriched!
