ADOPT A MONKEY!

Elvis - Elvis was born sometime in 1983 and came to Zooville on June 23, 2008.   Elvis was part of one of the largest exotic animal training compounds in the country that unfortunately closed down when the owners filed for divorce. He and his mate were among the last animals to be placed because he was old and not a reproducing male.  We heard about him when we went to pick up Jordan the leopard.   We were then introduced to the pair and couldn't refuse these exceptionally charming primates.  Elvis has obviously been in a few brawls in his past with other primates, and has the battle wounds to show for it.  But now he is just a retired sexy senior citizen who loves to lounge the day away.
Priscilla -  Priscilla was born in 1998 and came to Zooville on June 23, 2008 with Elvis. She is a beautiful animal who came to us in picture perfect condition.  She is a funny monkey who loves to tell people stories and loves to show off her big white toothy smile.  She also loves to flirt with men, and laughs when she thinks something is funny.  She is completely subservient to Elvis, and whatever he says - goes!  Since she is younger and more agile than Elvis, she is quick to load her cheek pouches at feeding time with anything she can grab, and then scurries to the highest points of the enclosure - where Elvis seldom goes!  She is a very clever monkey!
Ma - Ma was born on April 10, 1995 and came to Zooville on March 10, 2005 along with her mate Pa.  They had belonged to a private owner who found that he could no longer care for the pair.  He was very picky about where they went because Ma is extremely aggressive.  He was afraid to place them in a "pet" home where someone would try and handle Ma and end up getting hurt very badly.  He knew if they came to Zooville, she would handled by people who new and understood that she can do serious bodily harm, despite her small size!  She has mellowed only slightly over the years, but she is very content in her family troop, of which she is the matriarch.

Ma & Pa are currently not on exhibit!

Pa - Pa was born April 1, 2001 and came to Zooville on March 10, 2005 along with his mate Ma.  He is a beautiful male and much more mellow than his female companions. Since he lives in a female dominated society, he is always the last to eat, so we tend to hold back a choice treat or 2 to give him while his ladies dominate the food tray!

Ma & Pa are currently not on exhibit!

Don Corleone - aka Godfather - Don and his merry band of monkeys arrived in Zooville on December 11, 2011.  They range in age from 2 to 8 we are told, but we really have no idea.  When they arrived, Taz the black male seemed to be the dominant male of the troop, and he was quite mischievous.  But slowly, we noticed Don taking over and he became very dominant and Taz bows down to Don, who drags him everywhere by the tail!  If Taz should try and walk in front, the Godfather stands on 2 legs puts a hand on Taz's back, locks tails, and walks him.

Taz - came to Zooville as part of the Godfather's troop on December 11, 2011.  The group was donated to Zooville by an anonymous benefactor who wanted these dynamic little animals part of our education program.  When we were preparing for their arrival, their caregivers kept telling us what nice little monkeys these were, but to look out for Taz because he was the trickster.  It was that trait that earned him the name Taz, as in the tasmanin devil character, but with Don's accession to top dog, Taz now plays a lot nicer with his humans!  Guess he has learned what it is to be slapped around!  This troop has been an absolute pleasure to have, and we are incredibly blessed that they found us!
Spider Girl 1 - we are having a contest to name the new spider girls, have you entered?  This little girl was woken up for her picture!
Spider Girl 2 - high atop her perch this little beauty surveys her new home.
Spider Girl 3 -Shy and quiet, this little cutie patootie is content and secure in her new home! Girls 1,2, and 3 can typically be found very close to each other.
Spider Girl 4 - this little darling prefers humans if humans are around.  She coos and chatters and begs for lovin!  She follows you where ever you go and only stops moving for back and neck massages!  She returns to the troop when there are no human suckers around!
Franklin - came to Zooville USA on June 23, 2008 with his buddy Groucho and Elvis and Priscilla Macaques.  He has a huge attitude for a small monkey and if you aren't careful around him, he will teach you a lot about working around monkeys!  Unfortunately, at some point in his long life, someone removed several of his teeth, including canines, and his tongue hangs out frequently.

Franklin is currently off exhibit.

Groucho - Came to Zooville USA on June 23, 2008 with Franklin, Elvis and Priscilla.  Groucho is the oldest capuchin and the smaller of the two.  He is Believed to be born in 1990 but most of the history of this group is unknown.  He is very whiney and grouchy which is what earned him his name.  He is not the trickster that his brother is, and tends to shy more away from people unless there is a really good treat in your hand!

Groucho is currently of exhibit.
