Ziggy - Ziggy and his brother Digby came to
Zooville on June 27, 2005. They came here along
with 13 other animals that were in need of rehoming.
They were in excellent condition, but are quite the shy
and flighty animals. They were only 2 when they
arrived here, and we hoped they would settle down as
they aged, but that has not happened! They need a
larger habitat, and we hope with your support we will be
able to give them one soon!

Digby - Digby came here with his brother Ziggy
on June 27, 2005. We had hoped over the years we
would find them female companions to live with, but
Green Acouchis are not very common in captivity.
We are happy that they at least have each other for
companionship.

Bonnie
- Bonnie and her sister June (aka The Pointer Sisters)
came to Zooville on May 6, 2011 and belong to another
facility. They were in need of exhibit space and
asked us if we would be willing to display them for a
while. We were all too happy to help, as these are
quite fascinating creatures. We are not sure how
long these awesome animals will be living in Zooville,
but we hope it will be for several years to come.

June -came to Zooville with her sister on May
6, 2011. These are some of the more destructive
animals we keep in Zooville, and can chew through just
about anything. Along with those super size
canines, they are incredible diggers and tear the ground
cover up in no time. While the floor of their
exhibit has buried wire, they dig and dig and dig.
With your support, we will be flooring their exhibit
with concrete pavers. They will still be left with
a central area of dirt to dig in, as that is a natural
behavior we do not want to totally prevent.

Bucky - Bucky and Boo came to Zooville on June 13,
2011 and were about 4 months old when they arrived.
They came from another state and were orphaned babies
who had been imprinted and came to Zooville as part of
our education program. They are also part of our
Focus on Florida wildlife, as most Floridians don't even
know that we have these robust rodents living in our
State. Bucky is a snuggle hound and will literally
try to climb up your leg to get you to hold him.

Boo - Boo came to Zooville on June 13, 2011 with her
companion Bucky to be animal ambassadors for our
wildlife education programs. Boo is a little more
stand-offish than Bucky, but once she sees Bucky getting
all of the love and attention, she just has to join in.
She is very quick to slap her tail at you and make sure
you know - she is master of her domain!

Petunia
came to Zooville in 2006. She was purchased at an
animal auction when she was just a baby. We had
gotten her to be a companion for a single cavy we had
here that was living with 2 capybara that were quickly
outgrowing him. She is very nervous around people
and prefers the company of other cavies.
Currently, Petunia is off exhibit.

Clyde came
to Zooville in 2005 when another facility operated
by a friend of ours had taken in a herd of cavies and
there was a lot of male aggression. Clyde was
never completely happy as a solitary cavy, and when we
were in the process of relocating, some of our animals
had to go to our holding center which is owned by
another friend of our zoo. There he fell in love
with a little girl cavy of theirs and we decided it was
in his best interest to leave him with her. Now
that we have to have some of our kids in holding during
our expansion and construction to provide a better life
for all of our animals, we have introduced Petunia with
Clyde for companionship. We look forward to
bringing them all home in the future. Til then,
they will remain safe and sound but off exhibit.
